Dr. Shelley A. Theno
Assistant Professor of Psychology
Position: I am currently the full-time tenure-track psychology faculty member at the Kenai River Campus of KPC.
Education: After graduating from the University of Alaska Anchorage with an AA degree and a BS in Psychology I went on to the University of Kansas to receive a Masters degree (1992) and PhD in Social Psychology (1996). I also was awarded a three year post-doctoral fellowship with the National Institute on Drug Abuse, Social and Behavioral Sciences Division, sponsored by UAA.
Teaching: My teaching experience began at the University of Kansas where I taught for four years while in graduate school. I also taught adjunct for one year, and then held a one-year term position both at University of Alaska Anchorage. My first full-time psychology faculty position was with the University of Alaska Southeast where I taught for five years before coming to KPC in 2003.
Classes: General Psychology, Human Sexuality, Statistics, Methods (introductory and senior level), Social Psychology, Psychology of Women (I also have taught Motivation and Emotion, Psychology and the Media, Drugs & Drug Dependence, Learning and Motivation, and Lifespan)
