KBC nursing students pinning ceremony
KBC-based nursing students will hold their traditional pinning ceremony at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21 at KBC's East Campus in recognition of their completion of their A.A.S. degree/RN in nursing. In Jan. a new cohort of eight students will begin the next program sequence.
Friday dialogue to be held Nov. 20 TODAY
Come join residents of the Kenai Peninsula at a community dialogue from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20 in the KRC McLane commons. The topic of the dialogue is crime and lawlessness: rights, enforcement and social responsibility. Discuss whether our crime prevention system is fair, if it's working or not, and how it could be improved. The Roundtable Center for Mediation and Community Dialogue and the KRC Student Union are bringing the community this dialogue opportunity. Retirement counseling for PERS and TERS 
KRC Human Resources has announced that Judy Hall, regional counselor for the Alaska Division of Retirement, will be available for individual appointments from 8-9:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 2 in room 107 at the Kenai River Campus. Please contact Melanie Hagen at 262-0307 to reserve a counseling session. Participants are encouraged to bring current printouts of their retirement accounts to the individual appointments. This information is available to members on the Alaska Department of Administration's Web site: under Quick Links on the right hand side of the page “My Account Information, Member Services”. If members do not have access to the internet, they can request their account information by calling the ADA's office toll free at (800) 821-2251 and selecting #4 on the automated voice system for future retirement requests. To receive the information timely, members should identify they are requesting it for an upcoming field trip.

This official request from KRC's Katie Wells: “All KPC employees: Pay Number 25 time sheets must be submitted early in order to be paid on time. Submit your time sheet to the payroll office by Friday, November 20th, 2009. Supervisors are asked to remind their employees to get their time sheets in by the deadline. Early submission is due to the Thanksgiving Holiday campus closure the following week. Please call Katie Wells at 262-0224 if you have any questions.”

Wonderful opportunity from the Soroptimist International Club of the Kenai Peninsula
The local Soroptimist International Club of the Kenai Peninsula is offering a generous $1,000 Women's Opportunity Award this spring. The award is available to women who are the head of their households and who are enrolled in some form of education. The winner will receive $1,000 and will advance to Soroptimist International's regional contest, which offers awards as high as $10,000.
